About Luna Cycle Tracker

Last updated: June 2026 ยท freeperiodtracker.com

Our Mission

Luna exists because we believe every woman โ€” regardless of income, location, or what she can afford โ€” deserves access to tools that help her understand her own body.

Menstrual health has historically been underfunded, understudied, and undertreated. The apps that do exist often lock basic features behind expensive subscriptions, sell user health data to advertisers, or treat women's intimate health information as a product to be monetised.

We think that's wrong. So we built Luna differently.

What We Built

Luna is a free period and cycle tracker that goes well beyond logging your period date. It tracks all 4 phases of the menstrual cycle, provides phase-based wellness guidance, helps your partner understand your cycle, and gives you a health report you can bring to your doctor โ€” all completely free.

Luna is free because health information should be accessible, not a luxury.
No credit card. No premium tiers hiding core features. No data selling. No ads tracking your health information.

Key features we built with care:

Our Story

Luna was built by a freelance web developer based in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The idea came from a simple observation: the tools that help women understand their bodies either cost too much, share too much data, or do too little.

Building Luna was a solo effort โ€” no VC funding, no team, no marketing budget. Just a belief that this tool deserved to exist, and the technical skills to make it happen.

Luna launched in 2026 and is committed to remaining free for at least two years, with a transparent monetisation plan that will never compromise user privacy or access to core features.

Our Values

Built With

Luna is built on CodeIgniter 4 (PHP), MySQL, and Chart.js. It's hosted on shared hosting โ€” proving that impactful tools don't require huge infrastructure budgets. The PWA uses service workers for offline support and is installable on both Android and iOS.
